Pastor Jin is originally from South Korea. He grew up in a strong Christian family. Following an oath to God he made in his childhood to become a pastor, he went to Yonsei University in Seoul and studied theology. After graduating with a BA degree, he went to graduate school in the same university and majored in the Reformation era of church history. After his MA degree, he came to the States to study an M.Div course at Asbury Theological Seminary in Kentucky.

After graduating from Asbury, he moved down to Nashville to serve the Nashville Korean UMC. He served as the pastor of children’s ministry, young adults ministry, pastoral care, and education for 10 years. He was ordained as an elder in full connection to the TN conference in 2013. Before coming to Bethel UMC, he was appointed to diverse churches and ministry settings, such as a new church planting in Memphis, GTF (Burmese refugee ministry) and mission and outreach ministries in Belmont UMC, and pastoral care and older adults ministries in Winchester First UMC.

He has a wife who is his ongoing supporter, ministry partner, and assistant (she's also an excellent cook!). He also has a daughter and a pet Maltese dog named J.J (Jin Junior).

He loves playing soccer, baseball, and ping-pong. He earned a first-degree black belt at Taekwondo (Korean martial art).
